My birth story is one for fairy tales. It sounds like the fiction really.

My mum was 22 weeks pregnant with me when she went into labour. They had travelled to the village aka Ushago for a family function. With the terrible roads those days, all the bumps and potholes could be blamed for the early labour.

I was born at 22 weeks in the village where there was no electricity leave alone a decent hospital that could handle a premie. My mum decided to take a big risk and take me back to the city (Nairobi) for medical attention. This is where the story gets interesting.

There was absolutely no way of transporting me to Nairobi, so she got creative.

She took a jug stuffed it with towels, put me in it. Put a lid on it and wrapped it with more towels for heat and more protection. We set out on a 13-hour journey to Nairobi. 

13 hours later we arrived in Nairobi. My parents took me straight home put me under an electric blankie and by the fireplace for extra warmth. (By this time I was out of the jug obviously). Nothing worked I was almost dead at that point.
They set out for the hospital. The first two hospitals rejected me saying I was already dead. 

Lucky enough the third hospital to a chance on me. 5 Months later I was checked out of the hospital.

My dad tells me on that day, the hospital came to a standstill. All the nurses, All the doctors escorted me out singing, dancing and praising the Lord and with sooooo many gifts. I was the worst case they had seen. I was the miracle baby.

My birthday is not just an ordinary birthday. It's pretty darn SPECIAL.

Happy new month readers!
Its been a while since i shared my thoughts on the blog.
Alot has been happening and good stuff i must add :)
This month i will celebrating a grand reunuion. My sister flies in from the states tomorrow night.
I last saw her 19 years ago. I was a pre-teen then, now a grown woman.
It feels great knowing that am seeing her again.
September has definitely started on a high octave cresendooooo!

Hello September,

It's definitely been a while.
Change has happened. For starters i took down my locs. I am wholly a naturalista. :)
I plan to grow out my natural hair as long as my locs were. Everybody is raving about my new look.
Half the time i still do not know what to do with my hair. I get caught up all the time.

Hello February!
While februrary is generally considered the month of LOVE,

Happy New Month!
I know the month is practicaly half-way expired but lets celebrate the half that's not.
October of this year, has come with sunny days and happy thoughts...
I spent a week down at the coast for work, this time i got to chill at the beach and enjoy mother nature. Pretty start to the month of October.

My October,
May i learn to leave foot prints in the sand ..
Savour life for all it's worth,
Let go of everything i cannot change,
Discover new soulful music (done!! a south African artist: Nathi.. i looooove his sound)
Finally complete my reading list.

Unbelievably August is already here with us. Count down to my favorite time of year.

It's only 4 months to the close of the year. WOW! What a year! *in Jeff Koinange's voice*

So, today i sat down and did a mental audit of my year thus far. I asked self those tough questions.
I had my long expectation list at the start of the year that  i was going through last night.  i have managed to crossed out two of the twenty-six expectations listed for 2015. Not bad huh?! Yeah. So i need to make somethings work before the year ends. lol. 

Time is ticking away and so is opportunity :)

August of this year,
Creeping up on people ain't right,
I am looking forward to newness,
I am looking forward to completeness,
I am looking forward to better august weather,
I am looking forward to eating out more and having more fun activities,
I am looking forward to meet-ups and long august discussions,
I am looking forward to another pizza delivery in the park.
More laughter, More games, More captivating books.

October came and quickly leaving.
It has been quite an adventure...

I MISSED: My 20,000th Blog view!! That was one MILESTONE i did not want to leave unturned!! :(
I couldn't believe when i logged onto my blogger and was late by about 1000 views.

I CELEBRATED: My bosom buddy's ruracio (which is basically her dowry negotiation ceremony). We have been friends since we were six. We look a lot alike now. Even her family who had never met me thought so too. When you grow up with someone its almost like looking at a living, breathing calendar.

I WAS AMAZED AT: How much weight i have actually lost! I saw a picture of myself, i thought WHOA?! Is that really me?! I was completely blown away!!
It's amazing how as i transition, i didn't really notice the changes except in my closet.
Physically i thought the change was subtle. NOT ANYMORE.. This is one miracle i am counting all day every day. #AllGloryBelongsToGod #NothingIsImpossibleWithGod

LOOK FORWARD TO: A closet make-over and a change of hair color. That will be a thrill!! \O/ \O/

I love Fall! This would be my absolute favorite season.
The leaves look like God took out his paintbrush again..
And Left us with a tangible mark of his artistry :)

I must admit August has always been one of those months that just passes quietly for me.
Its almost as though memories of august are never backed up in cache. lol.
But NOT August of this year!!
Today is the 4th day of Day 40 ..
Believe me, you will know when Day 40 has come!!
July was a child learning to walk, August is woman on the run.
