I must admit August has always been one of those months that just passes quietly for me.
Its almost as though memories of august are never backed up in cache. lol.
But NOT August of this year!!
Today is the 4th day of Day 40 ..
Believe me, you will know when Day 40 has come!!
July was a child learning to walk, August is woman on the run.

Dear August of this year ...
My month of new things,
Come bearing gifts,
I have my list written out like a Christmas wishlist,
Out with the OLD ... in the the NEW,
August, i am ready!!

WIND.OF.CHANGE

2014 is rolling in with lots of changes!  Sudden unexpected changes! I have soooo busy lately.
I am Offically in  a new department - Audit & Supervision! \O/ \O/
You can imagine the change from I.T. Systems to Numbers.. Huge Numbers! lol.
I am adjusting better than i thought.
I look at I.T. as my "Former Employer" and this new department as my "New Employer" its coming along great.
Change is the only constant. I am bracing for EVEN bigger changes this year.
I have largely changed my thinking this year. Its funny how i no longer think the same way i did last year.
Interesting how things that moved me once, no longer move me much.
I call it GROWTH. Emotional. Mental. Physical.

I finally got to watch 12 Years A Slave! \O/ . I had to see if it lived up all the hullabaloo generated about it.
In my view it was not very much different from the number of Slavery Movies out there.

The story line struck a code in my soul after Solomon Northup got kidnapped and sold off :((
Seriously, how sad could it have been for him. His family is living freely back home while here he was being whipped to submission?? :( for 12 horrid years?!!

Big Up to Solomon Northup, he managed to pick up the pieces of his life after undergoing such atrocities.
If i was in his shoes i would have DIED from holding way to many grudges. *No Kidding* Yup! My heart and spirit would have given way ages ago.
Slavery in any form is such a disgraceful  heartless ACT!!

Lupita Nyong'o .. WOW! She out performed herself! Hands down! She did a mighty fine job.Who would have known she had it in her? The Whippings just made my stomach :(( Seriously.

The survivors of any form of slavery, deserve a ticket straight to heaven! *just a thought*

In one scene in the movie, When Solomon Northup is sent to pick up supplies in town by his master's wife, he attempts to run away and stumbles upon three salves about to be hanged. This is the part where i pictured Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) riding up on his horse and doing his rescue swoop. LOL \O/
I could not help but think where is Django Unchained!!??
I think i have watched way too many slavery movies that its evidently getting to me.

This got me thinking, According to the scriptures from the Holy Bible -- Jesus died for our sake.
To set us free from sin and many other things gone wrong.
He paid the price for our freedom with his blood that was shed on the cross.
But how many of us still walk around with slave mentalities? How many of us are enslaved by our pasts, guilty consciences, addictions, bitterness, unforgiveness??? this list is endless.
After watching this i remember praying and asking the LORD to change my identity. Where i walk around as a slave, May he constantly remind me who i truly belong to. Food for thought.
