JUST ANOTHER MMM... DAY

Just another MMM... day with nothing but a RANDOM road trip on my mind!! *sigh*

{ LE GRINCH!

I have always ogled at all the amazing online purchases with Oohs and Aahs but NEVER EVER given a thought to buying anything that required delivery to our post office box.

I always imagined the postmaster as the-Grinch-who-stole-ALL-packages-sent via airmail.
When i was younger, i would imagine the beautiful gifts sent to us that NEVER got delivered, in the hands of the post-master or one the post-office staff's children..as they played with our toys or wearing our jewellery or shoes or clothes etc etc.
I would get real MAAAAD at the post-master and all of the post-office staff  *blame it on misplaced anger* so, i was always AFRAID of the post-master.

While making up a list of the all the things required for setting up shop, i discovered almost ALL of the things i desperately needed, were NOT available locally.
The dreaded FEAR of buying and shipping set in.
i thought, OOH.MY.WOOOOORD, what if the-Grinch-who-stole-ALL-packages-sent via airmail, got his hands on my packages, i will be finished!! 

While looking up eBay, i thought to myself, why don't i make a tester purchase?!
If the package is delivered, we're good! if not, well ...the-Grinch-who-stole-ALL-packages-sent via airmail will enjoy an incredible pair of 80s blue aviator sunglasses. so i DID IT ANYWAY.
To my SURPRISE  on Saturday evening i received a little package in the mail.

My tester package got delivered!!  

SO, maybe just, maybe the-Grinch-who-stole-ALL-packages-sent via airmail,  finally retired??  or maybe there was no Grinch-who-stole-ALL-packages-sent via airmail after all ??

Update:My second purchase from eBay arrived in the mail yesterday (29.Jan.) .. YAAAY! i was awesomely surprised at how quick that delivery was.

Is it just me or is the month just flying by.
So, am back at work .... At the same time busy trying to put things together on the business front.
I didn't think i needed so many little knicks and knacks, most of which i cannot get locally so here's to buying and shipping ;) ;(

:: Today, I was driving to a job interview when I saw a businesswoman standing next to her BMW on the side of the road. She had a flat tire. I pulled over and helped her put on the spare. When I arrived to the interview, the woman who I helped ended up being the CEO of the company. I got the job. MMT

:: Today, I know I am a horrible father when I sometimes catch myself holding him and crying and wishing he had died during birth instead of my wife, the love of my life. MMT

:: Today, my father told me, "Just go for it and give it a try! You don't have to be a professional to build a successful product. Amateurs started Google and Apple. Professionals built the Titanic." MMT

:: Today, I was looking through the Facebook remembrance groups of two people that died from my high school. The girl was sweet, smart, quiet and unpopular. She was killed by a drunk driver. The guy was inconsiderate, rude and popular. He was the drunk driver. His group has 602 members. Hers has 48. MMT

:: Today, a friend and I were waiting outside a burger diner when a middle-aged man with a shaved head and tattoos covering his arms, face and neck came up me us. He pointed to his beat up van and said that he had run out of gas and needed some money to get his family home. My friend handed him 10 dollars without hesitation. And then, out of left field, the man started crying and hurried back to his car. He brought each of his children over to thank my friend personally. MMT

{ RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME }

1. I was born at 5 months old, at my grandmother's. Transported back home (nairobi), in a jug...with a lid on it wrapped in towels... *could that be reason why i'm sooo obsessed with personal space??..hmmm*

2. I knew my real birth date when i was 9 years old...technically i celebrated my first birthday at 10 years ... a decade later. (talk about being a late bloomer..lol)

3. My real real birth date is 04.04.84...for real this time.

4. I bruise easily ... Seriously! i brush against anything, and OUCH! another bruise. --- am glad that's got better over the years. hoooray to over-exposure.

5. (REF:  HEY KIDDO!...WHERE D'YOU GO??) ---When i was a little girl, i wanted more than anything to be a boy!! every night  for 2 weeks i prayed and asked God to make me a boy. As a testament of my faith, each morning i would run to the bathroom to confirm that God gave me,  you know... balls.

6.  I am 95% pessimist and 5% optimist. i survive on the 5%

7. Hi. My name is Peps, and i am a CONTROL FREAK!! Almost everything has to go my way.

8. I have gone through the 12 steps and beat my addiction to FRIES!! yaaay me :)
