HEALTH IS WEALTH...

“When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot fight, wealth becomes useless, and intelligence cannot be applied.”  Herophilus

Health is Wealth INDEED!
There is nothing more precious than Health in this world!
Being down with illness is NOT the best experience anyone could have. You are basically tied down, you feel like  slave in your own body.
You cannot do the things you would 'normally' do. You begin to appreciate the little things that just make life meaningful e.g. getting out of bed!
Today, i am counting the blessing of HEALTH! here...here..!
The fact that i am out of bed, in the office working.. doing the things that i would deem 'normal' without a tinge or twinge of body ache = an AMEN to that!! :)
You never know the importance of staying healthy until you are NOT!
I raise my cup of TEA  ... yes i said it my fellow Kenyans.. TEA with MILK .. lol!
We all know the woes of the mwanainchi have been raised a notch higher with the slapping of VAT on all essential commodities including milk, bread, ugali flour etc etc..
But, we are a nation of FEARLESS... we will not be shaken :))
A toast to HEALTHY

Stay healthy, wealthy & wise  :)

HAPPY NEW MONTH..

“[T]hat old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air ... Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year's mistakes had been wiped clean by summer.”
Wallace Stegner, Angle of Repose

Hello September, :)
August came and went too soon!
I do not know about you, but it surely is NOT summer here...
Its the opposite of summer...

Chilly days & cold nights...
August was quite the fair lady
Came packaged with experience & growth & renewal
I am happily looking forward to what you have in store for me :)
In love, career, finances, business, Relations etc etc.

My Quote for the Month

Walk with the dreamers, the courageous, the cheerful, the  planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds & their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than you found it .. "

September ...  Bring Me Goodness :)

HE WANTS IT ALL

“But God doesn't call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come through.” Francis Chan, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God
60 Quotes that Will Change the Way You Think

There's a voice that cries out in the silence
Searching for heart that will love him
Longing for a child that will give him their all
Give it all, he wants it all
And there's a God that walks over the earth
He's searching for heart that is desperate
And longing for child that will give him their all
Give it all, he wants it all
And he says, love me, love me with your whole heart
He wants it all today
Serve me, serve me with your life now
He wants it all today
Bow down, let go of your idols
He wants it all today, he wants it all today
He wants it all today, So give it all

There's a God that walks over the earth
He's searching for heart that is desperate
Longing for child that will give him their all
Give it all, he wants it all
And he says, love me, love me with your whole heart
He wants it all today
Serve me, serve me with your life now
He wants it all today
Bow down, let go of your idols
He wants it all today, he wants it all today
He wants it all today,
He wants it all

Oh, oh, oh, all of you, more of you
He wants it all today oh, oh, oh
(Whole thing, whole thing, whole thing)
Today, today
He wants it all today, he wants is all today
So give it all
There's a voice that cries out in the silence
Searching for heart that will love him
Longing for child that will give him their all
Give it all
He wants it all

The 20 Things You Need To Accomplish In Your 20s

Being 20 and young is no longer a valid excuse to do what you want. Life doesn’t get any easier and it is crucial that you use this time to position yourself in order to give yourself a competitive advantage in the future. Our 30s can be very successful, or a complete failure, all depending on what we learn and how much effort we put in during our 20s. ---- Paul Hudson
20 Things No One Tells You About Your 20s

Re-blogged from Elite Daily
20. Let go of the past and look forward to the future.
By the age of 29, there will be many things that you will accomplish and there will be things that you failed at. You must learn to let go of your failures and learn from them. You must not think about what you could have or should have done, but rather what you will do next. The 30s are the new 20s, so get your shit together and make something of the next decade!
19. Accept that you are an adult.
By the time that you reach 27 years of age there should be no doubt in your mind that you have reached adulthood. This is the time to accept that you are an adult and that it is time to act like one. This does not necessarily mean to tone down your crazy escapades, but it may. In your 20s you need to come to terms with being your own master and taking responsibility for your decisions and your life.

18. Learn to maintain and keep your environment organized.

Your personal home environment very much reflects who you are as a person, who you are inside. If your surroundings are hectic, you are likely to feel inner tension. If your surroundings are neat and peaceful, your mind most likely experiences the same peace. If you want to find and maintain peace, then you must manifest your inner peace in your outer surroundings.

17. Learn to maintain your body.

Exercise is important. And so are all the grooming tasks that a person should learn to maintain throughout the years. Looking tidy, organized and well trimmed becomes more and more important the older you become. You may not feel the need to trim those nose hairs now, but you will when you are 50. This goes for both men and women.

16. Learn to dress well.

People judge you on how you look and how you dress. Wearing the right clothing for each occasion will make whatever you wish to accomplish a bit easier — in the very least it will only work to your benefit and not against you as would dressing poorly or inappropriately. Women need to learn how to wear dresses and walk in heels (walk, not waddle) and men should get comfortable in a suit. No matter who you are, there will be at the very least several times that you will need to dress to impress.

15. Start to accumulate a fortune.

I don’t know about all of you, but I plan on being a billionaire. If you are to become a billionaire, you will have to become a millionaire first. Hit that first million by 30 and your first billion by 40.

14. Learn to adapt.

We must all embrace change — the sooner the better. Change occurs constantly and unless we learn to change along with it, we will get left behind. Sticking to the ways of the past finds you living a life unfit for reality, but rather fit for a time that once was. The longer you wait to embrace change, the more difficult it will be to change your ways and habits.

13. Outline your perfect partner.

Some believe that it’s best to leave love to chance or fate. I, on the other hand, believe that loving is a decision and not some completely random, unexplainable concept. You may not be able to find a woman that matches your dream woman 100%, but you should have a good idea of what you do want in a partner and what you don’t want — as well as how important each characteristic or lack of is to you.

TEE.GEE.I.F

"Whoever wastes your time is your enemy.
Whoever does not respect your time, does not respect you."
  ---- Aliko Dangote

I have become an avid reader of  Forbes. I gravitate toward Investment & Development in Africa.
I have become increasingly intrigued by the Money Makers & Shakers in Africa..
Both of the "Old Money" & the "Young Money" Generations. I am especially following articles on two Nigerian Money Makers. Billionaire Aliko Dangote "Old Money" Generation & Billionaire  Ladi Delano "Young Money" Generation.
What has been repetitive in the articles is the fact that all these money makers started off passionately at very young ages of between 11 - 16 years average. Running small businesses, like selling sweets,
At the tender age of 22 Ladi Delano was running a company that was racking in an average of US$ 22 Million in revenue! In China!! yes! i said CHINA! Making his very own brand of Vodka - Solid XS.
That was 8 years back. At 30, he has been indicted into the billionaires club!

Ladi Delano (source: ynaija.com)

I started thinking back to where i was at 22?!
What was i doing when people were minting money from their ideas??? I was in University ... partying hard and enjoying life with BIG dreams. UNREALISTIC big dreams! SMH.
I read article after article ... Money Maker after Money Maker.. from Nigeria.. Kenya.. Senegal.. South Africa... Tanzania (Tip: Ten Young African Millionaires To Watch ) I was impressed.. More so INSPIRED!!
I thought to myself, Its NOT over till the fat lady sings! And as long she can still bellow a tune, I can still mint money from my ideas! I can still make my OWN BIG DREAMS come true :)
I don't know about you.. but, am currently in search of a business mentor. Someone to teach me the
"How-To's" of doing business in this technology obsessed world while mixing the traditional ways of doing business. I am planning on going bakery to bakery talking to successful cake business owners. Find out how they started and lessons they can pass down to up & coming entrepreneurs. I will gladly share their stories right here on my "Lets Talk About" page.
On my road to becoming a successful entrepreneur, i am also learning the power of choosing my counsel wisely. The people i turn to for advice, share my ideas with.

 BE INSPIRED!! :))

THAT POINT.

“There are two types of Pain in this world: Pain that hurts you, and Pain that changes you! ~ Unknown”

Today am not okay...
See,
I do a great job at hiding it..
behind my cute smile..and strong spirit ... and that lousy " Am Fine" punchline.. ;)
The perfect soundtrack for this point would be...
AMOS LEE ~ VIOLIN
Lately I, I've been heading for a breakdown
Every time I leave my house
Well, it feels just like a shake down
Lately I, every time I try to lie down
My mind just gets away
I can't even close my eyes now
Between the wood planks I've been pacing endless
Impossible dream that I've been chasing
Oh God why have you been
Hanging out in that old violin
While I've been waiting for you,
to pull me through ....
Painting by Frank Morris

Well..today am counting the blessing of That Point
That "below the belt" point where there is no place to go but only up from here.
That inconsolable point,
where all you want to do is just lay flat on the floor, and sob like a tiger!!
That point, where there is no faith..no hope..no light in the tunnel..
That point, where nooothing seems to be moving..and clearly you are not getting anywhere??!
That point..where you can't run or hide
You just have to face up like that crying tiger you are..
That point, where you finally find God and let go of control
Because you have discovered that without HIM you are NOTHING!
That point...that scarey point that gets you out of your own safety zone..and into the safety zone of another
That is no longer considered a safety zone, because you have no control over...
That point, filled with endless lessons..and endless victory speeches, That are tailored made for the moment when you will remember that point.
Well...there you have it folks..my point.
And after scribbling these few words, i feel alive again. :))))

{ HUGE SIGH ...}

So the last couple of days have been really reaaallly busy...

It feels like time and work stood still while i was away on leave ;( --- lately my desk has managed to turn FENG SHUI to SHUI FENG no longer do i consider it my-harmonious-get-away-from-home-that-pays !! ;(

I COnfess #4 :: That sometimes i get so wrapped in what am doing, that i literally neglect all other aspects of my life.

Through all the craziness, i have managed to stick to my resolution to read! read! and read some more! the 80/20 Principle has been a great how-to-do guide lately.

I decided to put together my EVERYTHING-I HAVE-ALWAYS-WANTED-TO-DO list  and start on it ASAP! am focusing on the things that i love to do... as i work towards other things in my life ;) My list will keep expanding as i go along :)

1. Drive a MANUAL Car!! --- woos! my justification has always been my eye-hand coordination just wont work with a manual, unless i have an emergency like say, i over-beat the ONLY tub of fresh whipping cream and my order is due for delivery in less than an hour--aaaand the person i sent for more cream brought me CHOCOLATE??! so, i take the car keys and say bite me!

2. Finally, enroll for the coveted advanced Cake Classes!! --- and STOP drooooooling over other people's master creations!

3. Finally register my Business Name!! --- Opening my publisher and admiring my logo and soon-to-be business cards will NOT get me there!!

4 Enroll for Spanish Classes --- the real thing peps! clearly distance learning has not been happening. More distance less learning!! por favor ;)

5. At least ANOTHER professional certification???---huh?? what say you???---yeah??

6. Take a GIANT leap of FAITH, literally ---- Faith, its just me and you ;) lets do this!

7. Develop a NO QUITTER  attitude.
------------
Plus I've VOWED to start saving up for a major holiday (long term in the near future )! am thinking the Islands..perhaps. we'll see
