PRODIGAL SON ... COME HOME.

18 I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; [just] make me like one of your hired servants.22 But the father said to his bond servants, Bring quickly the best robe (the festive robe of honor) and put it on him; and give him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet. - Luke 15:11-32
Google
I first heard the story of the prodigal son from Sunday school as a little girl. I always thought about the son, the father never quite crossed my mind.
How pained was this man to give his son his inheritance before his time? He knew he was not ready for it, but because he loved his son dearly, he gave it to him. /O\
The young lad went ahead and wasted everything. Partying all day and all night, Buying luxury products at will, road trips... At NO point did investing cross his mind. lol.
His wealth vanished just in time for a famine. How timely. right?
He had nothing on him all his "friends" were no where to be found. He sought help from one of the locals who gave his the job of feedings his hogs. And feeding the hogs and with the hogs he did.

Google

At his wits end, he chose to return back to his father as a servant not a son. His father receives him not as a servant but as a son.
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son [I no longer deserve to be recognized as a son of yours]! 22 But the father said to his bond servants, Bring quickly the best robe (the festive robe of honor) and put it on him; and give him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet.23 And bring out [e]that [wheat-]fattened calf and kill it; and let us [f]revel and feast and be happy and make merry,
In today's world, we may not exactly ask for "our inheritance" but we may ask of God things that we are NOT prepared to receive. Things that time has not yet come.
It could be that high grossing salary or that cozy home or that car you have been dreaming of or that life partner or that dream job or the baby your soul has been longing to hold. The list is endless.
God knows that if he gives us these things before time, they will destroy us. Just like the prodigal son.
Where are you at this point in time?

1. Thinking about asking for your "inheritance".
2. Already asked for your "inheritance".
3. Looking for that far away land.
4. Already packing to leave for that far away land.
5. Already on your way to that far away land.
6. Already settling in the far away land.
7. Just about to start squandering your "inheritance"
8.  Already wasted all your "inheritance".
9. Feeding the hogs
10. Preparing to go back home.

Whatever your situation, there is still a second chance. :))

LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON....

I stumbled upon an article from saintsnotsinners.org

1. The father was never angry at the Prodigal Son.
The first is that the father was never angry at the prodigal son. Not even when the son took his inheritance and squandered it on all those porno mags and Marilyn Manson albums . There’s no sign that the father ever got vindictive and said, “That dirty-rotten-sinner son! I need to judge him! I need to banish him from the family!”
2. He started as a son, ended as a son, and was a son everywhere in between.
The son was a son from the start. He wasn’t a stranger and then a son. He woke up as a son, took all of his inheritance as a son, blew all of his inheritance as a son, ate with the pigs as a son, and finally returned to his father, welcomed home as a son. In fact, it was only the prodigal son who declared himself unworthy to be called a son—the father never did!

3. He was never banished from the father by the father; he left on his own.
This story doesn’t show a prodigal son who was banished from the house by an angry father, it shows a son who willingly left and abused all he had been given. And the father waited. Patiently and full of hope.

HEART TO EARTH

“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”  –Friedrich Nietzsche

 JUST ANOTHER MMM... DAY.
The weather seems so shifty lately,
Needless to say, it does not dumpen my mood :)
Becky-Bex left for Colorado...
Now i am forced to tune into my voice of reason,
from an entirely different time zone.
Here's to dreams and blue skies and stars,
To divine connections and favor and everything that leads us to destiny.
Motivation of self & self preservation during the rough patches..
Mayday, Mayday ....
This is my heart to earth.

HE WANTS IT ALL

“But God doesn't call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come through.” Francis Chan, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God
60 Quotes that Will Change the Way You Think

There's a voice that cries out in the silence
Searching for heart that will love him
Longing for a child that will give him their all
Give it all, he wants it all
And there's a God that walks over the earth
He's searching for heart that is desperate
And longing for child that will give him their all
Give it all, he wants it all
And he says, love me, love me with your whole heart
He wants it all today
Serve me, serve me with your life now
He wants it all today
Bow down, let go of your idols
He wants it all today, he wants it all today
He wants it all today, So give it all

There's a God that walks over the earth
He's searching for heart that is desperate
Longing for child that will give him their all
Give it all, he wants it all
And he says, love me, love me with your whole heart
He wants it all today
Serve me, serve me with your life now
He wants it all today
Bow down, let go of your idols
He wants it all today, he wants it all today
He wants it all today,
He wants it all

Oh, oh, oh, all of you, more of you
He wants it all today oh, oh, oh
(Whole thing, whole thing, whole thing)
Today, today
He wants it all today, he wants is all today
So give it all
There's a voice that cries out in the silence
Searching for heart that will love him
Longing for child that will give him their all
Give it all
He wants it all

OF MONDAY & ROTTING FRUIT

“If life gives you lemons, pray for fruit.”Salaveena

Last week my workmate needed a place to store her pineapple at the office.
I thought oooh, i have my leather bag that i use to carry my laptop out of the office. You could use that?! And so, the pineapple found a temporary home in my laptop carrier.
It had been on of those weeks that you are literally looking forward to the weekend :))
We totally forgot about the pineapple.
An entire week went by, then came Monday morning...
My office has a not so familiar smell :((( My fellow workmate comes in for a chat and as we catchup, i couldn't help but bring up the not so familiar smell up in conversation.
Me: Do you smell something? Did they wash the carpets again and forget to air the office?
Her: Yeah, something smells terrible. Like rotten fruit!
*Light Bulb*

Me: OMGoodness!! THE PINEAPPLE!!
Yes! The pineapple! In my bag! Rotten! eeeeeeeewww! LOL.
A quick phone call to my workmate, a reminder that her forgotten fruit is now decayed. Yuuurgh!
Upon her arrival at the office, we attempted to open the bag, to assess the DAMAGE.
ooooh! It was DAMAGE alright! ...the  rotten fruit smell filling up the office. Literally made me gag!
So, we threw it out and aired the bag, which did not help much.
Took the bag to another location to minimize the damage already caused... did not help either.
Finally, i had to rinse the bag out. Warm water .. Soap ... the works.

THE END!

BITTER-SWEET

Why do you go away?
So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”

{ SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION }

Is it just me? or is the world shrinking???????
So lately, i seem to be going through my six degrees of separation! i call it my six degrees of exasperation...lol!

Wikipedia defines this as ::  the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person in the world, so that a chain of "a friend of a friend" statements can be made, on average, to connect any two people in six steps ::

What Wiki forgets to mention is that there is always  a constant de·nom·i·na·tor (d -n m -n t r) !!
That one person, who connects you to all these other people...right??!
My head is still spinning from a "two degree" encounter from yesterday..
I made a "new friend" -- emphasis on new. So, i joined her for a lazy afternoon-in over at her house.
We got talking and i find out she knows all of these people that I KNOW!! Plus we've totally been out together at a club once --- ALL OF US. I swore i didn't know her until now. Well, i had seen her before twice in a bus but that was the only time that i was confident i had ever seen her before.
I thought this CANNOT be possibly happening to me... Head Spin!! --- Six effing degrees of exasperation y'all!
NOT forgetting that a few months ago i had a similar encounter!!. I considered that my one degree.
I am holding onto positive thinking and considering that maybe...just maybe.. maybe.. i am Six degrees ... actually 4°53'23"N , 4°00'27"W (4 degrees, 53 minutes, and 23 seconds north of the equator and 4 degrees, no minutes and 27 seconds west of the Greenwich meridian) of separation from a totally AWESOME and AMAZING person number 7... am just saying. But Who's Counting?!!

{ HUGE SIGH ...}

So the last couple of days have been really reaaallly busy...

It feels like time and work stood still while i was away on leave ;( --- lately my desk has managed to turn FENG SHUI to SHUI FENG no longer do i consider it my-harmonious-get-away-from-home-that-pays !! ;(

I COnfess #4 :: That sometimes i get so wrapped in what am doing, that i literally neglect all other aspects of my life.

Through all the craziness, i have managed to stick to my resolution to read! read! and read some more! the 80/20 Principle has been a great how-to-do guide lately.

I decided to put together my EVERYTHING-I HAVE-ALWAYS-WANTED-TO-DO list  and start on it ASAP! am focusing on the things that i love to do... as i work towards other things in my life ;) My list will keep expanding as i go along :)

1. Drive a MANUAL Car!! --- woos! my justification has always been my eye-hand coordination just wont work with a manual, unless i have an emergency like say, i over-beat the ONLY tub of fresh whipping cream and my order is due for delivery in less than an hour--aaaand the person i sent for more cream brought me CHOCOLATE??! so, i take the car keys and say bite me!

2. Finally, enroll for the coveted advanced Cake Classes!! --- and STOP drooooooling over other people's master creations!

3. Finally register my Business Name!! --- Opening my publisher and admiring my logo and soon-to-be business cards will NOT get me there!!

4 Enroll for Spanish Classes --- the real thing peps! clearly distance learning has not been happening. More distance less learning!! por favor ;)

5. At least ANOTHER professional certification???---huh?? what say you???---yeah??

6. Take a GIANT leap of FAITH, literally ---- Faith, its just me and you ;) lets do this!

7. Develop a NO QUITTER  attitude.
------------
Plus I've VOWED to start saving up for a major holiday (long term in the near future )! am thinking the Islands..perhaps. we'll see
