I CHOSE JOY

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” - Nehemiah 8:10

On the morning of my birthday I have a ritual where i get up to pray at midnight.
I say my prayers and ask God for ONLY one thing. This year i chose joy. We learnt at church that there is a difference between joy and happiness.
Happiness - is dependent on our current circumstances or situations. It is temporary.
Joy - is not a respecter of the current circumstance or situation. It comes from within and is from the Lord. It is permanent.

I chose joy because ...
I wanted to laugh again,
I wanted to keep smiling no matter what i was going through, i wanted a complete change of attitude towards living & life
I wanted a brand new beginning...

The best things in life are indeed free. We run around looking for happiness in our jobs, our bank accounts, our social media pages, our friends. we forget happiness is temporary. Chose joy because it comes from God and it strengthens us from the inside out.

THE HOLSTEE MANIFESTO.

"You have let the wrong people and unpleasant circumstances change the happy person you used to be. Now let some positive people and a positive attitude help get you back there" ---- A Grown Man's Thoughts

{ GROWIN'S

Most people don't grow up. Most people age. They find parking spaces, honor their credit cards, get married, have children, and call that maturity.
What that is, is aging.  ― Maya Angelou

Growing up sure is a journey!! – it really really is interesting compared to being a kid *like Duuuh!*
Being grown takes skill....making decisions and calling the shots.
We manage time, money, schedules, bills and even our emotions.. because that’s what grown-ups do.
Growing –up sure does CHANGE a lot!!
Change is EVERYWHERE …ALL THE TIME..
We change our dressing, hairs, jobs, friends, addresses, signature perfumes, favorite drink… Change.  Change.  Change.
We get OLDer...
We open our minds up in the name of exposure.
We start to question more and believe less.
We lose imagination and embrace reality.
We are so focused on 'important' things, that we forget the simple things.
We lose and find people and things including ourselves.
We burn bridges and rekindles lost relations..
We travel the world and we gain new families.
We have attitudes because of what life's situations have given us.
We pray less and worry more.
We play less because it is now considered child-like.

------- I have no clue where i was going with this post. But, whatever it was, i sure hope it makes much sense. :-)))
