AFTER THE RAINS II

“Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.”

----------------------------
It's a beautiful morning,
The rains have come upon Nairobi,
The ground is wet,
The earth smells fresh,
The thick grey clouds form a beautiful background
against the Nairobi skyline,
Little water puddles EVERYWHERE
Now, the dust is settling,
Schools are closing for the holidays,
Traffic will lessen, i hope
The little joys of living in the city :)

AFTER THE RAINS

I love it after it rains.
When the air is so thick and heavy..
The ground is moist with little puddles
Traffic is a mess ...
I was made for this type of weather..
Its perfect for a run or a long walk,
Your lungs expand and fill up your chest cavity.
You feel light headed from the fresh thin air,,
Amazing Afro-Music playing as my soudtrack.
I could walk for days!!

AFTER THE RAIN

After The Rain

It is a grey December evening.
The air remains chilled after the weekend rains.
The ground is wet and the mud has its signature everywhere.
The atmosphere is chaotic; the big lorry just blocked the little car from exiting.
Voices are raised and engines have been shut off.
I wish I could get out of the vehicle and just walk-on home,
but the dark clouds have descended upon the skies again.
It is about to pour out loud.
It does not feel much like Christmas.
The air feels so stuffy from the June-November drama,
I just cannot seem to shake off.
Chestnuts are not roasting on an open fire but, O come O come  Emmanuel .
This Christmas could be the one …
