EVERY STEP COUNTS...

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life. ― Steve MaraboliLife, the Truth, and Being Free
It boils down to how badly do you want it?
I began my journey of change a year ago.
The first year of my journey was purely miraculous. All i did was say a prayer.
A few blurred lines full of open honesty and sheer desperation for change.
"Dear Lord,
Help me lose the extra weight. I have done everything in my power to lose the weight.
I have been on diets, i joined that very expensive gym and the swim club. I never missed a workout unless it rained heavily.  Lord, you know i have done my best. I cannot go beyond this point without your help.
Help me lose the extra weight.
I watched the video on youtube of a prophet prophecing weightloss and instatntly people lost the weight in the auditorium. Tonight i am calling on that God who was in that auditorium that night. HELP ME!"
God came through for me.
I did not diet neither did i excercise. I would go to sleep and wake up smaller/lighter.
During the year 2014 i lost a whooping 16 Kgs or 32 pounds on nothing but the faithfulness of God.
My colleagues at work and my family and church family can testify on my behalf. It happened right before their eyes and mine too :)

January this year, i wanted a six pack. I became bolder with my prayers. I asked the Lord for a six pack. The response was not what i hoped for.
"Irene, it is not my responsibility to keep you fit."
I could no longer ride on that miracle cloud. It was upon me to do part. Clearly God had fulfilled his end of the bargain. #FaithfulGod
After taking the step of faith, i had to take the next step running or jogging or skipping.
I took up exercising and healthy eating. I traded sodas for smoothies, water and herbal teas.
I started jumping rope and T25ing every morning.
It's been five months and i can count the number of workouts missed, My wonderful readers it has payed off :)

SCENTS...

“I can't over-emphasize how important an exquisite perfume is, to be wrapped and cradled in an enchanting scent upon your skin is a magic all on its own! The notes in that precious liquid will remind you that you love yourself and will tell other people that they ought to love you because you know that you're worth it. The love affair created by a good perfume between you and other people, you and nature, you and yourself, you and your memories and anticipations and hopes and dreams; it is all too beautiful a thing!” C. Lately, i have been all about scents. I am shopping for a new signature scent.
I cant over emphasize or under emphasize the impact of the aroma you carry on your surrounding and the people around you?!
The right aroma has a way of changing an atmosphere.. commanding respect even.
Have you ever stopped someone to ask the name of fragrance they had on? OR even found yourself, describing to a friend the type of fragrance someone had on that day? there is power in scents.
The Bible says that our prayers and supplication go into the presence of God as sweet smelling incense.
Imagine that. Even our prayers have an aroma before God! Am telling you, there is power in scents.
Different aromas attract different things.
There is the aroma to attract money, the aroma to attract relationships, the aroma to attract the presence of God etc etc.

I watched the movie Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer.
This is the STRANGEST story script i have ever watched.
Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, born with a superior olfactory sense, creates the world's finest perfumes. His work, however, takes a dark turn as he searches for the ultimate scent.
He falls in love with the scent of red headed woman whom he murdered by mistake. Her scent captivates him and gives him the strangest idea to collect body scents from red heads to make the ultimate scent. He embarks on a killing spree. Killing red heads, covering their bodies with oil & wraps them in polythene paper, scrapes off the oil. Melts it down decanting the vapor to make perfume." - very sick.
In my search for the best signature scent, i have come across words like: Notes, Noses, Designers..
I love fresh, floral, citrus, aquatic scents! One spritz and i'm transported to a chateau in the South of France, or the beach in Santorini..le sigh!
www.fragrantica.com is my go to site for everything scents. Especially reviews, notes, designers and noses.
Am looking something mature, simple, classy yet feminine.
The search is on.
